The guide

The tour is led by Aurora Borealis expert - professional photographer who utilises a vastly collected database, thorough understanding of the region and solar wind data. Your guide will monitor weather forecast and solar wind graphs in real time to maximise your chance and ensure you are at the right place at the right time.

The hunt

If weather conditions in Finland are not favourable, it is not a problem, your guide will cross the border into Sweden.

Duration

On average, the tour lasts about 6 hours. However, the duration may vary between 4-10 hours depending on the weather conditions and solar wind activity.

Photo session

Photos and videos are edited and delivered the next day. Files are available for download in full resolution and remain accessible for at least a month.

Group size

To make the tour and the photography session personalized, we only organize small-group tours of up to 8 guests or private tours. No crowds, and most importantly, no buses.

Pick-up and drop-off

This tour includes free pick-up and drop-off within a 10 km radius from Rovaniemi train station. No need to look for a meeting point or wait outside in the cold.
* Pick-up and drop-off service in further locations may be arranged for an additional fee. If your accommodation is outside the free pick-up and drop-off range / you have a car, contact us and we can discuss an alternative suitable for you.

Starting time

Starting time can be anytime between 16:00 and 00:00, depending on the time of year, weather, and solar wind activity.
The exact pick-up time will be confirmed on the day of the tour, between 15:00 and 21:00.
Earlier departures are typical in winter, and later starting time is more common in spring and autumn.
